25 Nov One point separates Grand Prix leaders after Blistering runs
Club chairman Colin Peters was the first South Devon Athletic Club runner across the line at the end of the hilly Budleigh Blister race, which formed the latest round of the close-fought club Grand Prix series.
Colin completed the ‘undulating’ mixed-terrain coast path run – based at Budleigh Salterton – in 1h 15m 55s. He was followed home by Shaun Kirk, James Spalding, Vince Langdon and Roger Webb.
Roger’s excellent late-season form continued, and he took home the award as the third Vet70 in the race. Colin Peters also scooped the award for third Vet60.
In the Grand Prix table Colin Peters now leads Shaun Kirk by a single point with one race to go. Rob Foster and James Spalding are just a handful of points behind. Kate Foley is the leading lady, from Alison Ford and Heather Coverdale.
There was a little more sunshine for Marc and Chrissie Walpot as they tackled the 5k and 10k at the 12 Carrera Muevete por la Diabetes 2025 in Madrid. Chrissie finished the 5k in 33m 54 while Marc finished the 10k in 49m 02s.
Kate Foley represented the club at the 20-mile Starcross Shuffle event, while Steph Bartlett was on the grid at Silverstone for the circuit’s Run Fest Half Marathon.
Following in the tyre tracks of Max Verstappen and the other Grand Prix heroes, Steph stopped the clocks in 2h 34m 05s.
