SDAC runners storm it in the windy cities

SDAC runners storm it in the windy cities

From the Windy City to rain-lashed Central Park in Plymouth, South Devon AC runners have been flying the flag for the club far and wide.

Dani Waters flew to Illinois for the Chicago Marathon, completing the course through the city streets in a time of 3h 33m 31s.

There was a good club contingent for a race a little closer to home – the off-road Templer Ten, organised by Teignbridge Trotters and based at Stover School on the outskirts of Newton Abbot.

Jeremy Goddard was the first club member to complete the tricky ten miles, finishing 121st overall in 1h 29m 14s. He was followed by Mark Holman (1h 45m 20s), Roger Webb (1h 51m 11s) and Alison Ford (1h 52m 43s).

The wet and windy autumn weather persisted for the Plymouth Harriers Autumn Five, the latest round in the club’s Grand Prix championship over a hilly course in Central Park.

Ray Tedstone was the first SDAC runner across the finishing line, 17th overall in 37m 16s. He was followed by Vince Langdon (48m 05s) and Roger Webb, whose 53m 47s made him the third Vet 70 across the line.
