3K Inter Club Relays

3K Inter Club Relays – Friday 7th August 2026

South Devon Athletic Club’s annual 3k Relays have quickly become a much-loved part of the local running calendar.

Over the last five years the event has grown to become a must-do for many local running clubs, with teams varying from juniors to veterans. Entries come from all over the West Country.

The attractions of the event are many. For a start, it takes place on the Torbay Velopark at Clennon Valley, Paignton, where the super-smooth Tarmac surface is exactly 1500m in length.

Each runner, competing as part of a team of four, runs almost a whole lap before turning back on themselves and running back in the opposite direction. Once back at the start/finish line, they tag the next runner in their team and the relay moves on.

The venue is not only great for runners, but also for spectators, with the whole of the track in sight at all times from the large hard-surface spectator area. There is plenty of parking nearby in the Torbay Leisure Centre car park, and our PA announcers keep the music and information going throughout.

South Devon Athletic Club makes sure there are refreshments on hand for competitors and supporters, all the better to create a memorable evening.
For 2025 the club welcomed on board Paignton company RevComps as title sponsors for the event.
